Last Week of the Winter Quarter

Woke up to more snow this morning. Lucas has a habit of bursting into our room, rattling our very loud doorknobs, and issuing declaratives: "I'm cold!" "I peed!" "It's snowing!" So today he announced that "It's Snowing!!" and he was right. Just a thin layer of snow to remind me that it's still winter and it's still cold and dreary out.

One more quarter to go before my sabbatical. They should've told me at the end of the Spring quarter. Armed with the knowledge that I'll be having a very long break has made me a little irritable.

I need a recipe for "Play doh." We go through the stuff so quickly, and I know it's cheap to make. Someone have one?

I've got a stack of poetry books I'm getting ready to read during the break. Among them--Sarah Vap's Faulkner's Rosary, Norman Dubie's The Volcano, Beckian Fritz Goldberg's Reliquary Fever, and Dora Malech's Say So. They're all AWP purchases that I had started but they got shelved as the full weight of the new quarter pressed upon me. The first poem of Sarah's collection is a stunner, and that'll be the first one I'll dig into.

I'm teaching a prosody class and a prose poem class next quarter. Should be fun!
